Honoring the History of the
Homestead Arts Tavern
It is with great privilege that we align our initiative of the City of Rogue River's Professional & Business Resource Center with our Community Arts Plan and Event Space(s) with the rich untold story behind the Historic Homestead Arts Tavern Building.
The history of the Homestead dates back to the late 19th century into the early 21st Century, although the exact year has not been confirmed as of yet. What we do know is the building was historically used for a myriad of professional, community, and entertainment purposes including: a drug store, grocery, tavern, real estate office, and later as a tavern again working alongside multiple restaurants and an informal "social" club of sorts in the upstairs portion of the old steakhouse now used as professional suites.
Regardless of the exact timelines we know that the rich history here aligns with our vision and mission for the Rogue River Community and it is such an honor to be apart of continuing to write the history and uphold the legacy behind this building with our community plans & initiatives to support the growth and success of the community.
In efforts to preserve the Homestead's legacy uses and as the centerpiece for the City of Rogue River Community we want to be apart of restoring the Homestead Arts Tavern Building as a focal piece for the Community and honor its history by gaining better clarity and insights as to the timeline and history of the building and allow it to tell us how to continue to honor its legacy through our efforts.
Anyone with any direct information relating to the history, it's uses, or timeline are welcome to contact us as we will be rebuilding the timeline as best as possible according to any records we may obtain.
